Portland Trail Blazers VS Portland Trail Blazers Los Angeles Lakers Injury Report: LeBron James, Malcolm Brogdon out

The Portland Trail Blazers won’t have to face the NBA’s all-time leading scorer on Sunday night on the road against the Los Angeles Lakers. Lakers forward LeBron James will miss the game due to a left calf contusion. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic. However, Lakers forward Anthony Davis will participate in the game, ESPN’s Tim Bontemps reports.

Over in Portland, the injury list got longer as Malcolm Brogdon was listed as “out” for the game. Brogdon strained his left hamstring in the first quarter of Wednesday’s game against the Sacramento Kings.

He joins Scott Henderson, Anfernee Simons and Robert Williams III in the “out” section of Portland’s injury report.

The good news is that Trail Blazers forward Ish Wainwright has been upgraded to “questionable” for the first time this season. Wainwright, whom the Trail Blazers signed off waivers in October, has yet to suit up for Portland due to a strained right calf.

The Trail Blazers also drafted rookie forwards Chris Murray and Rayon Rupert, who are on assignment with Rip City Remix. The pair played Friday and Saturday in El Segundo, Calif., for the G-League affiliate.

Along with James, forwards Jared Vanderbilt, Jalen Hood Schifino and Gabe Vincent are all listed as “out” on Los Angeles’ injury report. Center Jaxson Hayes is listed as “day-to-day.”

The game kicks off on Sunday at 7pm in Los Angeles.
