Portugal vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina player ratings: Cristiano Ronaldo can’t stop scoring goals!Captain scores twice in emphatic victory to maintain perfection in Euro 2024 qualifiers

The Al Nasr striker scored his 126th and 127th international goals as Roberto Martinez’s side eased to victory

Cristiano Ronaldo was once again one of the goalscorers and the team around him contributed as Portugal beat Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Selecao led 4-0 after half an hour and scored five goals in the first half to win 5-0 and maintain a perfect record in the 2024 European Cup qualifiers.

Despite already locking in qualification for next year’s competition, head coach Roberto Martinez deployed a full squad.

His team immediately put Bosnia and Herzegovina to the sword. Ronaldo opened the scoring inside 10 minutes, taking a penalty after a handball inside the Bosnia and Herzegovina penalty area. The striker added another goal 15 minutes later, latching on to a pass from Joao Felix and slotting the ball past the goalkeeper.

Bruno Fernandez soon put the game in doubt, ghosting past the Bosnian backline and slotting a shot into the back of the net. The floodgates soon opened for the Selecao. Joao Cancelo scored the fourth goal in the 32nd minute, curling a shot into the top corner from the edge of the area. Felix also got his deserved point, taking advantage of a defensive collapse to score his fifth.

Martinez rotated in the second half and the team changed a lot, but there was no denying that few chances were created. But by then, the damage had been done.
