Quentin Tarantino has explained why there are almost no sex scenes in his films and why he doesn’t take seriously the irony about foot fetishes that has always animated the comments of cinephiles.
Quentin Tarantino is famous for the excessive use of violence and strong language in his films, but certainly not for sex scenes. How come her films hardly contemplate them at all, apart from exceptions such as Jackie Brown And Inglourious Basterds? He explained it himself during an interview with the Spanish newspaper ARA: “It’s true, sex is not part of my vision of cinema. But the truth is also that, in real life, it’s a hassle to shoot sex sceneseveryone is very tense“.
He then added that if he had the need to have it in one of his screenplays, he would have used it, but until now it has never seemed indispensable to him: “Apart from its somewhat problematic nature in the realization, if there was ever a sex scene essential to the story, I would have done itbut so far it hasn’t been necessary“.

The irony immediately arose around this resistance to sex scenes compared to those they foresee the presence of feet. In 2021, Quentin Tarantino addressed this passion for bare feet in his films in an interview with GQ: “I don’t take it seriously. There are many feet in many good films from many directors. For example, before me, the person accused of foot fetish was Luis Buñuel. And Hitchcock was accused of it and Sofia Coppola too“.
