Red Notice 2 – When is the sequel to the blockbuster movie coming to Netflix?

Red alert is director Rawson Marshall Thurber’s action comedy. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds, it’s an explosive adventure filled with humor, thrills and nonstop action.

At its core, Red alert is a classic heist movie, with a high-tech twist. The storyline revolves around the search for three legendary artifacts, all hidden in secret locations around the world.

Johnson plays an FBI agent, Gadot is a skilled art thief and Reynolds is a con artist – all three are hunting these precious objects for their own reasons.

The story is fast paced and engaging, with plenty of twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat.

It was also a HUGE success for Netflix becoming the most watched movie in its debut weekend as well as the most watched movie within 28 days of its release on Netflix.

So of course the powers that be would always renew it, but when exactly we can expect to see Red alert 2?

RED NOTICE 2 RELEASE DATE ON NETFLIX

Despite costing over $200 million, with each of the three lead actors reportedly being paid $20 million EACH, Red alert was so successful that not one, but TWO sequels have been confirmed.

In January of 2022, it was revealed that the two sequels were officially in the works and would be filmed back to back. In October of the same year it was announced that the second film’s script was completed, while work was ongoing on the third film’s script.

Writer/director Rawson Marshall Thurber would return, with Johnson, Reynolds and Gadot reprising their respective roles.

What we know so far is for filming Red alert 2 has been running since January 2, 2023. Before you get too excited, the first one Red alert footage also started shooting in January (2020) and it took 10 months to complete.

Even then it took another full year to hit our screens via Netflix. I can also tell you that the sequel is not on the 2023 theatrical release list!.

So our best guess at this stage is this Red alert 2 will come to us in mid to late 2024.

What does red alert mean?

The title of the film, Red alertis significant as it refers to an official notification issued by Interpol for its most wanted criminals.

According to the Interpol website, a Red alert is a request to law enforcement agencies worldwide to locate and temporarily detain a person pending extradition, surrender or similar legal action.

It includes information such as the individual’s name, date of birth, nationality, physical characteristics, photographs and fingerprints (if available), as well as information about the crime they are accused of, such as murder or armed robbery.

Such notices are published by Interpol at the request of a member state and must comply with the organization’s statutes and rules. However, it’s important to note that a red notice does not serve as an international arrest warrant.

Where was Red Notice filmed?

Red alert was filmed in various locations around the world. Principal filming locations were Atlanta, Georgia in the United States and various locations in Europe, including Spain, Italy and Croatia.

The production also filmed in Argentina and Canada. Some scenes were also filmed in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

The film’s international storyline required the production team to shoot in a variety of locations to achieve the desired look and feel for each scene.
