Region 6 reports 89% progress in influenza vaccine adoption – Agency Bulletin

Irapuato, Guanajuato, February 2, 2024 – Paramedics in the Sixth Health District have protected more than 140,000 people through seasonal influenza vaccinations, 89% ahead of the established goal in the six cities in their area.

The GTO Health System launched this campaign last October to avoid severe cases of influenza and its complications. Therefore, it is crucial that the most vulnerable people get vaccinated and avoid getting sick.

Within these groups, children aged 6 to 59 months, adults over 60 years of age, pregnant women in any trimester, and breastfeeding women 6 months postpartum are protected.

Likewise, health workers and people aged 5 to 59 years suffering from diabetes, obesity, COPD, asthma, hypertension, kidney failure, immunosuppression, cancer and HIV were also vaccinated.

All health units of the Sixth Health Jurisdiction receive the vaccine at the CAISES HC Cologne Benito Juárez from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Huanímaro, CESSA Cuerámaro, CESSA Pénjamo, CESSA Santa Ana and UMAPS Pueblo Nuevo.

The planned target is to administer more than 160,000 doses of vaccine, and so far more than 140,000 doses have been administered, so we cautiously appeal to the public not to delay and avoid complications caused by respiratory diseases.
