He has held senior level executive positions at various independent and mainstream music and film companies, including HITS MAGAZINE, RHINO ENTERTAINMENT Warner Music Group, URBANWORKS ENTERTAINMENT Ventura Distribution, CODEBLACK ENTERTAINMENT Universal/Vivendi, HIDDEN EMPIRE FILM GROUP and LIONSGATE, where he served as Executive Vice President and CEO of CODEBLACK FILMS, a subsidiary of Lionsgate. Most recently, Mr. Newell served as legal counsel at SANDERS ROBERTS LLP and helped launch and lead the firm’s entertainment transactions practice. Over the course of his career, Mr. Newell has completed hundreds of transactions across a variety of industries, including film, television, music and digital media.
