November 4, (THEWILL) – A few months ago, Afrobeat singer Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, joined basketball legend Michael Jordan and other NBA stars including Jayson Tatum and Luka Doncic cooperate.

The 23-year-old Mavins Records signee, one of Nigeria’s most important global music exports, was pictured alongside NBA legend Michael Jordan, the world’s richest sports mogul.

Reima’s photo with Michael Jordan sparked fan speculation about a potential collaboration with the iconic sports figure. Reima also teased a partnership with Jordan Brand by posting a pair of custom Jordan sneakers engraved with his name, which only added to the anticipation.

Now, the rising African star is proud to be announced as the official ambassador of Jordan Brand, marking him as the first African talent to join forces with the famous Jumpman, whether in the world of entertainment or sports.

“The irony is that I am now 23 years old and joining the Jordan family,” he wrote. In the post, Rema is seen wearing a Jumpman sweater. Related videos show him hanging out with the Jordan family and paying tribute to Michael Jordan and the late Virgil Abloh.

The deal underscores Rema’s undeniable marketability, cementing his status as one of the most popular Nigerian singers in 2023.

Rema previously delivered a historic performance at the Ballon d’Or Awards, attracting the likes of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland and David Beckham The audience included Tom and other football stars.
