Revealing the Many Inspirations of Troye Sivan’s New Drag Character

Troye Sivan has been setting the bar pretty high lately. This summer, the Australian pop star released “Rush”, the first single of a new era, and with it… trendy, wacky gem of a music video. Next up was “Got Me Started,” a track that was both sultry and mischievous, its charm heightened by the Bag Raiders’ “Shooting Stars” sample that referenced TikTok. Today Sivan finally released his new record Something to give each other is a dreamy slice of perfect pop – but it was the video for third single ‘One Of Your Girls’ that caught everyone’s attention, and for good reason.

If they were on Drag Race, they’d be called something like Troy Shevan, a little queen with a “passion for fashion” and a special penchant for singing. You might be worried about how she would handle the snatch game, but somehow she performed surprisingly well until she eventually finished third overall. After the show, in her first six months of work, she published a Dazed editorial (though not a cover) and was invited to The Fashion Awards. Work, queen!
