Rod Wave (“Nostalgia”) Narrowly Beats Olivia Rodrigo (“Guts”) to Debut at Top of Billboard 200 – GoldDerby

It was a close fight for the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart for the tracking week ending Sept. 21, but the rapper Rod Wave“Nostalgia” won in the second week Olivia Rodrigo“Guts.” Read all about this week’s chart here on Billboard.com.

“Nostalgia” reached 137,000 equivalent album units through a combination of traditional sales, individual track sales and online streaming. At the same time, streaming accounted for the vast majority of its units (135,000). This is Rod Wave’s third number one album, following “SoulFly” (2021) and “Beautiful Mind” (2022).

Guts was next with 134,000 album units, just 3,000 less than Nostalgia. That’s down 56% from last week, when the album debuted with 302,000 copies. The rest of the top five are made up of familiar faces. Zach BryanThe album of the same name remained in third place with 79,000 copies. Morgan Wallen“One Thing at a Time” held on to fourth place with 76,000 units. AND SZASOS moved up one spot to fifth with 53,000 units.

In our weekly Billboard 200 predictions contest, no one expected “Nostalgia” to top the chart. The vast majority of users expected “Kishki” to retain first place. Only one user predicted that “Guts” would actually be number two. In third place we expected “One Thing at a Time”; only 17 users correctly bet on “Zach Bryan.” The exact same number predicted “One Thing” number four. But SOS’s return to the top five took everyone by surprise. Despite these unexpected results, eight users correctly predicted half of this week’s results. How did you do this?
