“But I think it all comes from our success as a team. Obviously there are people who are going to take those accolades home, but, yeah, he’s the greatest player, definitely the greatest player in basketball.”
Those comments were a far cry from Pippen’s comments last year calling LeBron James the greatest of all time.
James surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar this year to become the NBA’s all-time scoring leader.
Pippen changed his attitude on this issue many times, but never changed the fact that basketball is a team sport and is not centered on individual players.
“I watched Jordan play before I came to play with the Bulls,” Pippen said on Stacey King’s Gimme the Hot Sauce podcast.
