In an exclusive interview with People magazine, actress Sharon Stone revealed that in 2001 she had just a 1% chance of survival after a torn vertebral artery bled into her brain for nine days. During this troubling period, Stone said he was the only person who was on his side.

She says the following and shares: “I was close to me, but she said that I am the same. And knowing that if you want to live a respectable lifestyle, it’s not like Hollywood.”

Before this accident, Stone was thriving both professionally and personally. She received her first Oscar nomination for Cassino five years ago. She had previously adopted her son Roan, now 23, with her husband, newspaper editor Phil Bronstein, a few months before the accident – she has since adopted two sons: Laird, 18, and Quinn, 17.

Difficulties

However, after the accident, her husband Desmoronou fell in love with her (Ela and Bronstein divorced in 2004), and after her, Hollywood. He reads: “You lose everything. You are losing all my voice. You are losing custody of my file. You are losing my career. You lose everything you think is your true identity and your life.”

She adds: “I’ll never actually recover much more than I said I would, but rather get to a point where I feel good like I do now and actually realize that this is enough.”

Today, Stone is a board member of the Barrow Neurological Foundation, a medical facility run by Stone’s surgeon, Dr. Michael Lawton, in Arizona. She will chair the annual Neuro Night fundraising event on the 27th of this month. According to the foundation’s website, its mission is to “save lives through innovative treatments, breakthrough treatment targets, and training the next generation of the world’s leading neurosurgeons.”

Lawton, whom Stone credits for saving her life, says she is an inspiration to those suffering from neurological problems. According to Alem, Stone was busy painting and playing pickleball, two pairings that Jamaicans imagine very possible. However, pickleball is “a lot of fun” and that the pin helps you hit the bull’s eye.
