Serena Williams and her daughter Olympia are tapping into that power.
The 42-year-old 23-time Grand Slam tennis pro and her 6-year-old daughter appeared to go to Galaxy’s Edge, one of the Disney theme parks, where they created and activated their own Star Wars lightsabers.
She shared their adventures on Instagram Stories, including their trip into a lightsaber studio where a lightsaber master gave them a tutorial on how to make their own with the iconic laser sword. The tennis pro also shared photos of her station and the various parts of the lightsaber she assembled. After completing the process, she shared a photo of her hand on the lightsaber, then stepped back as a worker placed her lightsaber into the machine.
“Are you ready?” the lightsaber master asked them, and Olympia proudly shouted, “Yes!” Williams showed her young daughter placing her hands on the sword and turning it as it activated— Her daughter’s lightsaber was red, while Williams’s turned blue.
The Olympian turned the camera to her daughter, who looked a little disappointed as Williams brandished her own blue lightsaber, saying, “I thought you were red.” The two then waved their lightsabers.

Earlier this week, Williams shared a relaxed TikTok video that opens with her posing in a black sequined puff-sleeve gown at the recent 2023 CFDA Awards, then cuts to her pumping breast milk and sighing deeply photo.
