Serena Williams is opening up to fans about her mental health.

The tennis legend took to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday morning to share that she wasn’t feeling great. In sharing the message to his more than 10 million followers, Williams also encouraged others to understand that it’s okay to be uncomfortable.

“I’m not okay today. It’s okay not to be okay,” she tweeted. “No one has a good day every day. If you have a bad day, I’m with you. There’s always tomorrow. Love you.”

Her fans were supportive. One fan responded: “This speaks volumes to me. Thank you for these empowering words. I am praying for you that you will be okay! I will be okay too,” while another added, “I hope you feel Be better, ma’am. You” “Exactly. It’s not nice sometimes, and it’s okay to admit that. But, here’s the thing. Put on some feel-good music and be a running boy throughout the house. It might lift the mood Your spirit.”

Williams did not share the same message or elaborate on Instagram or TikTok, where she also has nearly 20 million followers.

Just a week ago, Williams opened up about the reality of motherhood. She posted a TikTok that began with her dressing up for a night out at the 2023 CFDA Awards at the American Museum of Natural History earlier this month, before the video switched to her pumping breast milk.

“What my life is really like,” she wrote in the video. “It’s not as glamorous as you think.”

She added the tags “mom humor,” “working mom,” and “working mom struggle.”

Williams, of course, has daughters Olympia, 6, and Adira, two months old, with husband Alexis Ohanian. The 23-time Grand Slam champion’s mental health has been fragile for years. In a 2018 article time As the magazine reflects on her stellar performance at Wimbledon, in which she finished runner-up, Williams recounts the highs and lows of life on and off the court.

“I dedicate this to all the moms out there who have been through a lot,” she said. “Sometimes, I cry. I’m really sad. I’ve had breakdowns. It’s been a really hard 11 months. If I can do it, you can do it.”
