They have sold 10 million albums worldwide. The awards showcased at the 2010 Winter Olympics and most recently launched the ubiquitous #ImJustAKid challenge on TikTok, which has generated over 3.4 million videos, including from Hilary Duff, Ed Sheeran, Usher, Venus and Serena Williams.

These ambitions are fully reflected in the band’s sixth studio album, HARDER THAN IT LOOKS. First album produced by Como, singer Pierre Bouvier and guitarists Sebastian Lefebvre and Jeff Stinko. The album pays homage to Simple Plan’s historic career while also pushing new directions with songs such as “The Antidote”, “Ruin My Life” (featuring Derick Whibley), “Congratulations”, “Wake Me Up (When This Nightmare’s Over)” ‘ and ‘Iconic’.

“It’s incredibly challenging to be in a band for over 20 years, moving forward, staying relevant and dealing with all the challenges that come up,” says Bouvier. “It’s the furthest thing from a ‘simple plan’ – it’s really a lot more complicated than it looks. Over the course of our career, it took us some time to become mature enough to realize that our sound is an asset, not a drawback. On this album, we said to ourselves: “Accept yourself for who we are, and don’t be afraid to do what we do best.” Making a good Simple Plan entry is just as difficult as making something out of the ordinary.
