Spider-Man 4 Trailer Fan shows Maguire’s family life after No Way Home.

A new fan-made trailer for Spider-Man 4 imagines Tobey Maguire’s family life after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Phase 4 marked the beginning of the Multiverse Saga for Marvel Studios, as the Marvel Cinematic Universe began exploring alternate and variant realities. One of the main pillars was Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was not only the trilogy finale for Tom Holland’s spider but also saw the crossover with the other two Spider-Mans, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire. No Way Home has become one of the most profitable and highly regarded films of Phase 4 of the MCU.

It’s been nearly two years since Maguire and Garfield have donned their respective Spider-Man suits, leaving fans begging for more. Though Holland will have to return for the still-in-development Spider-Man 4, the future of Maguire and Garfield’s Spider-Man is still uncertain.

However, some are already imagining what Maguire’s Spider-Man 4 might look like after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Screen Culture recently released a new fan-made trailer, which depicts Maguire’s Spider-Man trying to balance family life with life as a superhero.

What many don’t know is that initially Maguire was supposed to have his fourth Spider-Man film after the third installment released in the mid-2000s. Sam Raimi was expected to return as director, paving the way for a new trilogy. Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, and JK Simmons were all set to reprise their respective roles, along with Bryce Dallas Howard as Gwen Stacy. Spider-Man 4 was supposed to hit theaters on May 6, 2011.

Over the years, a few plot details of Spider-Man 4 have leaked. One of the major twists involved the evolution of Dylan Baker’s character, Dr. Curt Connors, who could have become the Lizard. Before Michael Keaton was cast in the MCU as The Vulture, the role almost went to John Malkovich. Also, there were rumors that Anne Hathaway would play Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat.

But due to multiple behind-the-scenes creative disagreements, Sony canceled Spider-Man 4 in January 2010, opting for a reboot of The Amazing Spider-Man starring Garfield and Marc Webb. Even though Maguire never got a sequel trilogy, the fan-favorite Spider-Man could always return to the MCU. With Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars being foundational to the Multiverse Saga, Maguire’s Spider-Man could always be reborn through those films. While Spider-Man 4 is in the works for Holland, time will tell if at least Avengers: Secret Wars will see Maguire stepping into Spider-Man again.
