Spooky movies that will get you into the Halloween spirit

There’s a lot of nostalgia going on in Halloween fun this year as some of our favorite spooky classics have been remade or, better yet, given sequels.

Check out this holiday classic that’s sure to scare you a little.

Hocus Pocus 2 reunites Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as your favorite witches to get you ready for Halloween. The original film came out in 1993 and immediately became a family classic.

The film is streaming on Disney+.

Emerald and OJ, siblings played by Keke Palmer and Daniel Kaluuya, try to solve the mysterious death of their father in this 2022 thriller from Jordan Peele. The film is a chilling drama with a desert Western setting, sci-fi scares and UFOs.

Scream 1996

“Tell me your name, I’ll tell you mine.” Let’s go back to one of the best horror films ever made. It’s a deadly game and one masked man is wreaking havoc throughout the city. The 1996 film stars Drew Barrymore, David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and Rose McGowan.

Jamie Lee Curtis in

Halloween Ends is the third film in the franchise starring Jamie Lee Curtis, who starred in the original 1978 Halloween. The film tells the story of a man named Michael Myers who escapes from an insane asylum. He tries to kill his sister, played by Curtis, and brutally kills everyone in his path.

Winona Ryder Beetlejuice

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!!! Forget about fears and laugh. Beetlejuice has become a fan favorite since its debut in 1988. Starring Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice, the film tells the story of a dead couple who haunt their home and the new people who live there. The film also stars Alec Baldwin, Winona Ryder and Geena Davis.

18 Hellraiser

Hellraiser is said to be a “reimagining” of Clive Barker’s 1987 horror film. CNN film critic Brian Lowry says in his review that the film tells the story of a young woman, Riley (Odessa A’Zion from Netflix’s Grand Army), who “struggles with addiction and ends up stealing from the wrong vault.” , putting her and those around her (including her brother) in danger and creating an incentive for her to decipher what might be going on.”

Brad Pitt Interview with a Vampire

Who doesn’t love Brad Pitt movies?! Add in Tom Cruise, Kirsten Dunst, Christian Slater, some vampires, and you’ve got yourself a Halloween cult classic. Adapted from the novel by Anne Rice, it tells the story of how two vampires, played by Pitt and Cruise, turned Dunst’s character into a vampire.

It was nominated for an Oscar and has continued to haunt moviegoers ever since.

In Practical Magic, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman play two sisters who always knew they were different because they were witches. Their aunts raised them and taught them magic, but they grow up to learn that they are cursed. Every man they fall in love with dies a tragic death. They must use their powers to try to break this curse once and for all and find their one true love.
