(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) — The State Theater of New Jersey presents Latin Grammy® Award-winning artist, India on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 8:00 p.m. DJ Ralphie Mercado opens the show with a set at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $39 to $129.

Singer-songwriter La India has released nine solo studio albums and four compilation albums in the genres of salsa, pop, house music and rap. Indian hits include “Me Canse de Ser la Otra”, “Costumbres”, “Dimelo”, “Intensamente”, “Ese Hombre” and “Bajo la Torment”.

Named RollLin StoneAND Ranked among the top 200 singers of all time, La India celebrated 30 years of artistic activity in 2018 with a series of concerts called “Trayectoria” with performances in Puerto Rico, England, Colombia, Peru and the United States.

State Theater Guest Services, located at 15 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ, is open by telephone and email only, Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For personal purchases, Guest Services is open Tuesday through Friday from 12:00 to 4:30 p.m. Additional ticket and transaction fees may apply.

Following a major renovation, the State Theater of New Jersey celebrated its 100th anniversary in December 2021 in a completely renovated theater, including newly renovated lobbies, all new restrooms, upgraded HVAC systems, a new elevator for access to all levels, and brand new theater seats. Originally built as a silent film and vaudeville palace, the State Theater’s historical significance was recognized by PBS by including it in its documentary series. New Jersey Treasuresin the fall of 2018. “Treasures of New Jersey: State Theater of New Jersey” will be available broadcast online.

Today, State Theater It is the largest performing arts center in Central New Jersey and has welcomed more than six million people since opening as a nonprofit performing arts center in 1988. The New Jersey State Theater is a cornerstone of the cultural vitality of Middlesex County and averages an economic impact of more than $18 million per year on New Brunswick and its surrounding areas. The main stage programs featured such high-profile artists as Diana Ross, Tony Bennett, Kevin Hart, Ringo Starr, Melissa Etheridge, John Leguizamo, Harry Connick Jr., Diana Krall and Crosby, Stills and Nash. Programs offered include Broadway, orchestra, family, dance, comedy, rock/pop, jazz, school performances and sensory-oriented performances.

State Theater of New Jersey programs are made possible by funds from the New Jersey State Arts Council, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts. Grant funding was provided by the Middlesex County Board of Commissioners through a grant from the Middlesex County Arts and Culture Trust Fund.
