“We feel the time has come, even if it won’t be easy.” explained Joe Keery in an interview with Women’s Wear Daily before the strike. “I mean, I owe my entire career to this show, every job opportunity I’ve had has come from Stranger Things.
David Harbor told Discussing Film that it was a “bittersweet” feeling, although he feels it’s time to wrap up the story: “The funny thing is that when I started, I never wanted it to end. That’s why I like this series. I think it’s a great show, and I would think so even if I wasn’t in it. But after nine years, I think it’s time to call it a day.”.
Millie Bobby Brown also feels ready to say goodbye to the character of Eleven that made her a global star: “I think I’m ready. It’s been a big part of my life, but it’s like finishing high school. You feel like you’re ready to go on your own journey and blossom, and you’re grateful for the experience, but it’s time to create something of your own and live your life”.
