How to Make a Halloween Wreath
Feeling crafty? Thanks to custom florist Anna Eklöv, founder of LÖV Letterbox Flowers, here’s a quick guide to making your own Halloween wreath using completely sustainable materials.
“We love incorporating natural elements into our fall and Halloween decorations, giving them a rustic and inviting feel,” says Anna. “Unlike Christmas wreaths that have a green wreath base made of pine wood, we think a natural twine or rattan wreath base works best for a fall wreath and gives it an organic look. Colors to stick to when decorating a Halloween wreath are yellow, orange, beige, Brown and burgundy.”
- 1. Start by gluing leaves and dried leaves between twine and secure them to the base of the wreath. You can also use a glue gun at this point to ensure the leaves are more secure. Remember to overlap them slightly but loosely and face the same direction. Mix foliage and foliage colors to create a natural and wild look. Cover the entire front and sides of the wreath.
- 2. The next step is to plant pampas grass and wheat. Again, point the stems down in the same direction as the leaves and slightly out to the sides. Focus on covering the sides of the wreath. Trim the stems off a bit so they don’t stick out the other side or behind.
