The Tarazona City Council, in partnership with Mercadona and the Tarazona Red Cross, will be responsible for distributing bottled water in the homes of the most vulnerable. The donation is provided by Mercadona, the social entity that will be responsible for distributing bottled water in their homes to people with reduced mobility and elderly people who do not have access to bottled water.
The council’s social services department has identified people with this difficulty and has started making allocations. Anyone needing assistance is asked to call 678 424 289. This home delivery service will be available this Tuesday and Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Councilor for Social Services Lourdes Sánchez expressed his gratitude to the partner entities for their prompt cooperation and quick action. He also stressed that these were “extraordinary measures” taken in the face of “special circumstances.”
He insisted that “action has been taken as quickly as possible to continue services for the most vulnerable and ensure they have access to drinking water.”
“We hope this gives these people some relief and the situation calms down as quickly as possible,” Sanchez said.
gastroenteritis outbreak
From Sunday to Monday, Tarazona Health Center has notified 120 affected individuals with symptoms of gastroenteritis. Since no links between those affected have been found, the General Directorate of Public Health of the Government of Aragon has started an analysis of the drinking water supply network.
“On Monday this week they carried out an analysis of the water at various points on the network and the results were within the regulations, but two further analyzes have been commissioned by other independent companies so that the report is more complete,” the MP stressed. and Health Department, César García Benito.
