Voice veteran John Legend is back and ready to turn his chair around for the 24th season of the hit NBC competition series. Legend originally joined the show as a coach in 2019, mentoring the next generation of musical talent before taking a well-deserved break in season 23. His latest tenure sees him in direct competition with Reba McEntire, Niall Horan and Gwen Stefani.

Legend has had quite a busy few months while he’s been away from his red chair. He went on tour and had two children with his wife Chrissy Teigen: daughter Esty and son Ren.
“We welcomed Estee Maxine Stevens into our family on Friday and our home is filled with love and joy. I admire Chrissy’s strength and resilience and am thrilled to see Luna and Miles embrace their little sister. “I’m so, so grateful, but I don’t think that’s a strong enough word…” Legend wrote on Instagram after Esty’s birth in January.
And after Ren’s birth via surrogate in June, Legend shared photos on Instagram with the caption: “Ren Alexander Stevens, our new love.” They are officially a family of six!
