Telethon 2023: Australian rock king Jimmy Barnes will travel to Washington to raise funds

Australia’s rock royalty is coming to Telethon.

Jimmy Barnes will travel to Washington to perform on the Sunday night finale of the beloved television fundraising event, which runs Oct. 21-22 to encourage everyone to donate generously to help the state’s sick children.

The living legend will take to the stage with daughter Mahalia to cap off the weekend extravaganza at the RAC Arena on the final day.

Telethon supports 107 children’s charities across Western Australia with donations reaching a record $71.4 million last year to help build better, brighter futures for sick children.

Barnes has been a big supporter of Telethon, but this will be his first appearance in 15 years, having previously been here in 2003, 2004 and 2009.

The 67-year-old will round out the incredible entertainment, which includes performances from disco diva Marcia Hines, Russell Morris and the dazzling Rhonda Birchmore.

Children’s favorite and former Wiggle Emma Watkins, who now stars as Emma Memma, will make a special appearance, as well as ventriloquist and comedian David Strassman, Human Nature’s Phil Burton, social media sensations the Fish Twins and father-daughter TikTok stars Ben and Zara.

And as always, this year’s Telethon will be filled with laughs, unplanned moments, and panels featuring some of your favorite stars.
