FLORENCE – from 11 to 27 August. San Quirico d’Orcia (Siena) and in the most iconic places of the area classic overview Tuscan musical landscapes, ten years of classical music in Val d’Orcia. The 2023 edition will feature two winners of the world’s most prestigious music competition, the Tchaikovsky Competition: cellist Mario Brunello, the only Italian to win the prestigious gold medal in the competition, and the last of the winners, American cellist Zlatomir Fung.
Quartetto di Venezia with music by Mozart and Brahms will open the tenth edition of Paesaggi Musicali Toscani, a classical music festival that, thanks to the presence of world-famous figures, offers concerts of the highest quality in San Quirico d’Orcia. and in Val d’Orcia until 27 August. Other planned concerts will feature Quartetto Indaco, an ensemble in residence, along with clarinetist Tommaso Lonkich; Mariangela Vacatello at the piano; violinist Amandine Beyer with a program entirely dedicated to Bach; Ariana Kim, Young-Nam Kim and Kristen Choi participate in an Asian music concert. Two contracts with the Milano Classica chamber orchestra; and then a performance in Pienza with the Furibondo Trio and a traditional morning concert in Vitalete with the winner of the Hudson Valley String Competition (with pianist Corrado Ruzza). Finally, in collaboration with Accademia Chigiana, the final concert with Quartetto Prometeo.
The music of Bach, Brahms, Mozart, Boccherini, Haydn, Chopin, Dvorak, Shostakovich, Gershwin and other great composers will be performed. The festival is full of special and unforgettable musical moments that will be brought to life by world-famous artists who have been playing for decades in the world’s largest theaters and recording for the largest record companies, along with young performers, winners of recent international competitions. Tuscan Musical Landscapes 2023 will feature musicians from Italy, England, USA, Germany, South Korea, France and Japan. The monuments of San Quirico, the Collegiate Church, Pieve di Sant’Maria, Palazzo Chigi, Orti Leonini, the thermal baths of Bagno Vignoni are a magnificent and natural theater for concerts. In the vicinity of San Quirico, impressive places and enchanting landscapes are considered all over the world true icons of Tuscany. In these places and in these landscapes, musical events take place, accompanied by tastings and tastings of wines and dishes from the best gastronomic traditions of San Quirico. Tuscan Musical Landscapes is an event organized by the municipality of San Quirico d’Orcia in collaboration with Milano Classica and the cultural association “Musica Insieme”.
