There are a number of celebrities who have starred in a number of slightly embarrassing and bizarre international commercials over the years when starting out their careers.
People like Leonardo DiCaprio George Clooney And Britney Spears in their younger years they participated in campaigns around the world.
Many of them did advertising work along with acting and singing as they entered the industry to earn a little more money and gain fame.
MailOnline takes a look at the international adverts some celebrities DON’T want you to see:
1. LEONARDO DICAPRIO
YEAR: 1998
COMPANEYes: Orico Map
In 2014, Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio starred in an advertisement for the Japanese credit card company Orio.
At the time, he was at the beginning of his journey to becoming one of the world’s biggest stars.
In the nineties, he made a name for himself in films such as Romeo + Juliet (1996), Titanic (1998) and The Beach (2000).
However, around the time he was busy acting in films, he also starred in a series of Orico commercials.
In the action-packed commercial, he dramatically saved the day and then paid with his Orico card for the mess he made along the way.
He fights the Japanese mafia, stops a thief, and saves an elevator full of people before they fall to their deaths.
— Map of Oriko, okay? he says at the end of each scene, winking at the camera.
It turned out that he was able to charm not only film producers, but also companies looking for a star of the nineties.
2. BRITIE Spears
YEAR: 1999
COMPANY: Bitches Candy
In 1999, pop sensation Britney Spears starred in a Japanese commercial for the sweet brand Suki Candy.
It was the same year after the release of her smash hit Baby One More Time and she received huge media attention.
Many brands wanted to work with her as she became the biggest pop star on the planet.
UHA Mikakuto, a company popular among young people and teenagers, has chosen Britney as the face of its new gummy candy.
In the ad, Britney and her team travel on a CGI-enhanced private jet, juggling between arena gigs and brand jobs.
Her Japanese phrase roughly translates to: “Konjac gummies improve my stomach.”
3. MADONNA
YEAR: 1995
COMPANY: Takara
In May 1995, Alek Keshishian directed Madonna in a Japanese television commercial for Takara, a maker of shochu, or Japanese sake.
Wearing geisha shoes, Madonna enters the lair of the golden dragon to the sounds of music that she wrote and recorded specifically for the advertisement.
Approaching the beast, Madge draws her sword and cuts out a magical golden ball from its mouth, which then turns into a glass of Jun Legend sake on ice.
“I am clean. June Legend,” Madonna says, turning to the camera.
Called June Legend, sake was made by mixing two spirits distilled from barley and corn and aging them in charred oak barrels for one to five years.
Takara then claimed that sake tastes like whiskey.
Madonna wrote and sang a song for the commercial that included the lyrics: “How can I be pure when all my strength is breaking me?”
“How can I be sure where the path I have chosen will take me?” I am clean. June Legend.
4. BEN STILLER
YEAR: 2013
COMPANY: Kirin Fruit Beer
In 2013, actor Ben Stiller starred in a quirky Japanese commercial for Kirin fruit beer.
In it, Stiller freezes in a block of ice after opening a beer, only to be captured by a group of football players.
It all starts when he breaks through the pom-poms of the Kirin cheerleaders to tell the people of Japan all about their latest drink.
It’s not Stiller speaking, however, as they decided to use a dubbed voice instead of his own.
Ben is best known for his roles in films such as Zoolander, Night at the Museum and Dodgeball.
5. JULIA ROBERTS
YEAR: 2010
COMPANY: Lavazza
In 2010, Julia received the role of Venus in the Italian Lavazza coffee commercial.
In it, a Lavazza cup makes her smile so the artist can finish her painting.
She appeared in a 45-second ad campaign for a whopping £1.14 million fee.
The actress appeared in a celestial advert shown during the Christmas period in Italy, playing Botticelli’s Venus in the Clouds.
The scene begins with the artist losing his mind as his difficult muse refuses to smile on him as he attempts to create his masterpiece, “The Allegory of Spring.”
The ad also features two famous Italian artists, Paolo Bonolis and Luca Laurenti, offering the star A Modo Mio coffee from Lavazza.
After sipping her coffee, Julia breaks out into her signature toothy grin as the men cheer around her and Botticelli enthusiastically gets to work capturing her smile.
The brief ad ends with Roberts winking at the camera.
6. NICOLAS CAGE
YEAR: 2006
COMPANY: Sankyo Pachinko
In 2006, Nicolas Cage starred in a Japanese commercial for Sankyo Pachinko, a company that produces pinball machines.
The pachinko game looks like a vertical version of a pinball machine. The game involves shooting metal balls called “pachinko balls.” You can play pachinko by renting pachinko balls from the parlor.
When you win the jackpot, you can win a variety of pachinko balls that can be exchanged for various prizes.
Nicholas appeared in several commercials in 2006. In one of them, he sits at the piano and talks about how much he loves pachinko.
In another case, a reporter’s earring reminds him of a pachinko ball.
7. LADY GAGA
YEAR: year 2009
COMPANY: F1 Rocks
In 2009, Lady Gaga starred in a commercial for F1 Rock, a concert in Singapore.
I found it very suitable for the club music star, and in it she wears a skintight outfit with a newspaper print and statement shoulder pads.

In 2011, Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney starred in an advertising campaign for the Norwegian bank DnB.
In the clip, a woman wakes up to find out that she married George the night before and they are planning to move into a beautiful house together.
“Some people are lucky in life…for others, saving can be smart,” the ad then quotes.
Its purpose is to show that some people are lucky in life, while others have to be responsible and start saving.
George has appeared in a number of high-paying commercials, including the most famous commercial for the coffee brand Nespresso.
9. CHUCK NORRIS
YEAR: 2010
COMPANY: T-Mobile in the Czech Republic
In 2010, Chuck Norris starred in a series of commercials for T-Mobile’s Christmas campaign in the Czech Republic.
They show the martial arts guru standing silently and awkwardly in the home of a Czech family on Christmas Day.
“Chuck Norris has always fought for the right thing, and we love that,” Martina Kembrova, a T-Mobile spokeswoman, said at the time of the company’s choice.
“Everyone knows the facts and jokes about Chuck Norris. We wanted to go further and show Chuck in a typical Czech family setting, in an idyllic Christmas atmosphere – exactly what you wouldn’t expect from Chuck Norris.
“This is also what he liked and why he agreed to come to Prague.”
10. DANIEL DAY-LEWIS
YEAR: 1991
COMPANY: Kanebo men’s cosmetics
In 1991, Daniel Day-Lewis starred in a Japanese commercial for Kanebo men’s cosmetics.
The brand positions itself as a leading Japanese manufacturer of high-quality skin care, makeup and hair care products.
Daniel studied acting at the Bristol Old Vic and made his film debut in Bloody Sunday.
He received acclaim for his role in My Fair Laundrette and won Academy Awards for My Left Foot, There Will Be Blood and Lincoln.
