Disney’s domestic division has released the new trailer for The Boogeymanhorror based on the story by Stephen King which will be in the cinemas of the boot from June 1st.

High schooler Sadie Harper and her younger sister Sawyer are devastated by the recent death of their mother and don’t get much support from their father, Will, a therapist who is also dealing with his own grief. When a desperate patient unexpectedly shows up at their home seeking help, he leaves behind a terrifying supernatural entity that preys on families and feeds on the suffering of its victims.
The Boogeyman is directed by Rob Savage (Hosts), with a screenplay by Scott Beck & Bryan Woods (A Quiet Place – A quiet place) and Mark Heyman (The black Swan), and story by Scott Beck & Bryan Woods based on the short story by Stephen King. The film stars Sophie Thatcher (YellowjacketsChris MessinaAir – The story of the great leap), Vivien Lyra Blair (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Marine Ireland (The Umbrella Academy), Madison Hu (Bizaardvark), Lisa Gay Hamilton (Vice – The man in the shadows) and David Dastmalchian (The Boston Strangler). The Boogeyman is produced by Shawn Levy (Stranger Things), Dan Levine (Arrival) and Dan Cohen (The Adam Project), while John H. Starke (Hitman), Emily Morris (Rosaline), Scott Beck, Bryan Woods, Ryan Cunningham, Adam Kolbrenner (Tomorrow’s War) and Robyn Meisinger are executive producers.
“The Boogeyman is a classic horror film in the mold of Poltergeist – Demonic presences, that inspires fear and excites in the same way”, says director Rob Savage. “I vividly remember the terror I felt reading Stephen King’s story as a child, and it is this childhood feeling of dread that I wanted to arouse in film audiences around the world.
