Director Scott Waugh is more excited about reuniting with the big team than the Transformers star. In a recent interview with Moviefone (via Screen Rant), the filmmakers learned about the actress’ performance. It also highlighted the importance of their characters in the film.

Saga character
For Scott Waugh, Megan Fox and Gina’s appearance in The Expendables 4 is fresh air for the testosterone-fuelled franchise. After they moved to Moviefone, the filmmakers said they would love to see a female character join the team, even one as bad as Barney and company. Toutfua insisted that Gina was great without Megan Fox’s truly incredible interpretation: Scott Waugh did justice to the actress’s physical talents, but also knows how to fit in perfectly with the male casting.
“This is the final part of the script that just came out with Megan (Fox)’s character, Gina, and you really appreciate the fact that this is a female character who is on the path to perfection and is badass. It’s incredible to work with a woman like Megan (…) I think she’s a wonderful actress and she goes well with the rest of her hair because the best support is her own sweat glands. She takes things from others and she likes it. So I think it fits this type of great personality. »
