During the press conference, Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari exchanged updated information on the number of prisoners held by Hamas.
Hajri pointed out that there are 239 people “detained” in Gaza and that they have informed their families, noting that they include foreign workers.
Hajari stated that they are also tracking Hamas leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinfar, and will continue to track him until he is found.
Referring to the ground operation against Gaza, Hajari said: “We are gradually expanding the ground operation. We will do our best to ensure the lives of our soldiers.” He said.
Hajri stated that dozens of armed members of the Israeli army, including commanders at the tactical level in Hamas, were killed in operations in northern Gaza yesterday.
Israel had previously reported that more than 230 people, including soldiers and police officers, were in the hands of Hamas near the Gaza Strip.
