The Rock Reveals Whether Colin Kaepernick Will Join the XFL – VIBE.com

The Rock has revealed that Colin Kaepernick may be joining his “Extreme Football League.” According to X/Twitter user Dov Kleiman, his comments were made on Instagram after a social media user told the former wrestler that Kaep should play for the XFL.

“This is where Cap needs to play if he wants to prove he can still do it,” the user said. In response, the athlete stated that negotiations with his camp did take place. However, he acknowledged that the business opportunity may not materialize. “We met with Kaep and his agents (who I really like) earlier this year. Nice meeting. (We) tried to create an opportunity for him, but I don’t think it will happen. We’ll see,” he said.

Kaepernick was previously in talks with the XFL back in 2020. NPR reported. Unfortunately, conversations fell through after then-league commissioner Oliver Luck said Kaep’s salary request was “exorbitant.”

“We spoke with his representative, and the salary requirements that were discussed in that conversation were exorbitant and certainly outside our range,” Luck said. “You know, we have pretty significant salary restrictions. We’re a startup league, so we want to make sure we can be financially responsible and financially prudent. And the salary requirements that some people shared with us were exorbitant in our case, so we couldn’t go down that route.”

J. Cole recently shared Colin Kaepernick’s letter to the New York Jets asking for him to be included on the roster. On Tuesday (September 26), the Dreamville founder posted a lengthy note on his Instagram. Cole explained that he begged Kaepernick to upload the document. In the letter, Colin talks about why the Jets should draft him at cornerback.

“I asked Colin Kaepernick if I could share this letter with the world,” the Grammy Award-winning host began. “He resisted. My argument was that I believe people and all organizations need to know the truth about how hard he works and how much he still wants to play. And it has always been like this. He finally agreed to let me.”

“I wish the New York Jets organization the best,” he added. “My boy Bas is a huge fan, so I saw the heartbreak of every Jets fan when Arod lost. I’m sure everyone from the players to the coaches to the executives is feeling the pressure. I hope you all can make a difference and I hope there is a place there for my boy Cap. WORLD.”

The New York Jets ultimately turned down Colin Kaepernick’s offer. Instead, they signed eight-year veteran Trevor Siemian.
