Game Description
The Simpsons Game is an action-platform video game that was developed for the Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Portable. It is based on the animated television series The Simpsons. Electronic Arts was responsible for the programming, publishing, and distribution of the game. October 2007 saw its release in North America, and November 2007 saw its release over the rest of the world.
The writers Tim Long, Matt Selman, and Matt Warburton, who are responsible for The Simpsons, have contributed an original story to this collection. Over the course of the self-referential plot, the family comes to the realisation that they are being coerced into playing yet another Simpsons video game. The game, much like the show, makes fun of popular culture, other video games, and Electronic Arts, the company that publishes the game to begin with.
