The remake in The Witcher series will have a justification
During a recent interview given Yahoo News to promote the third season of the series The WitcherProducer Tomek Baginski has stated that casting Henry Cavill in favor of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt (expected in season four) will have a narrative rationale that will somehow reference the paper material on which the series is based.
The producer even hinted that Liam would not be a simple replacement, but a new take on the character.

During the events of the book, Ciri travels to several alternate worlds, including Camelot from the Arthurian myth. In the books, Ciri actually transports Geralt and Yennefer to another world after Geralt is seriously injured in the riots, with both characters’ fates still ambiguous. Some fans believe that Ciri will somehow transport Henry Cavill’s Geralt to another world to explain the cast change, while others believe that Ciri will bring Geralt from another world into the world of the series.
And this theory is also supported by the fact that the producer calls the recast a new version of the character.
