SSO congratulates doctors of the profession for their dedication and efforts for the benefit of women in Oaxaca
The agency has been involved in more than 10,000 deliveries so far this year
Oaxaca de Juarez, State of Vaax. August 31, 2023. – The Oaxaca State Health Service (SSO) congratulates obstetricians across the state for their outstanding work, effort and dedication in caring for women during pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium, who have contributed to reducing maternal mortality and neonatal mortality.
The head of the agency, Alma Lilia Velasco Hernández, emphasized that, according to the SSO, during 2022, the entity has performed a total of 18,253 deliveries, bringing the total to 10,622 so far this year.
In the framework of the observance of the International Day of Obstetrics on 31 August, the official noted the importance of this noble work carried out by specialists in maternal health and companionship.
Their daily functions are essential to reduce complications during pregnancy and contribute to optimal reproductive health; they also provide future mothers with guidance on baby care, feeding, lactation and hygiene to create a well-being childhood.
It should be noted that within the competence of health professionals in this medical department, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of premature birth, lower urinary tract infection in pregnancy, hemorrhagic shock, treatment of maternal binomial stand out. Immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, gestational diabetes, delivery after caesarean section, etc.
In this sense, he urged all pregnant women to participate in prenatal checkups and go to the health department for checkups every month to prevent and reduce risk factors, discover health problems and treat them in time.
