These Fake Tom Brady Talk Show Hertz Car Rental Commercials Fill Me With Anger, But I Don’t Understand Why

Advertisements are like cockroaches: omnipresent, nearly indestructible, and crunchy with a rich, nutty flavor. Despite my quick attempts at hitting the “skip ads” button, like all of us, in many places where I watch videos online, ads still creep into my consciousness. One particular type of ad seems to be more car-related than most, as it was created for car rental company Hertz. It’s a series of ads starring legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady, and the conceit is that he’s on some kind of rental car-themed talk show. Whatever the reason, these ads stung me deeply, and I finally realized that the only way to deal with the sting I felt when these excruciating 15 seconds of irritating ads hit me was , it even becomes a breeze. Well, I guess the above sets up the entire lackluster premise: Hertz, a car rental company, inexplicably decides to create a talk show and hires some kind of Oprah/Wendy Williams-esque Hosted by the host. The actress here plays her role well and I don’t blame her, or even Tom Brady, for the nightmare these parts turn into. I think the reasons are more elusive.

In the first clip, they were trying to make it look like Brady was revealing some deep confession?In a way he likens it to rent A Car Drives Away Because Tom Brady Like any of us when we fantasize, we like to keep our expectations nice and low, because that’s what fantasy is all about, right?if we only talk about have A car then drives and then the fantasy is shattered because now we have to fantasize about getting it registered and insured and so on.

Why do I hate these ads so much? Objectively speaking, they shouldn’t bother me like this. They’re just silly ads; Hertz wants people to know they lease electric cars and Shelby Mustangs. beautiful. excellent. Good for you, Hertz. But this conceit of fake talk shows – it’s all so tiresome and jarring, and the closer you look at it, the worse it gets. If we are supposed to believe that these are clips from Hertz’s Let’s Go Show, then how can we not consider the content of this mediocre show?

Well, reading what Hertz said in the press release about these things only makes it worse:

Okay, let’s get back to the big question: Why do these ads bother me so much? They really shouldn’t. They are advertising, they are not supposed to be art, they are there to sell something. However, not all ads are as distressing as these ads. I think maybe the whole premise of talk shows is just to make people understand that they’re actually about nothing, and dressing up almost nothing in something as loud and complex as a talk show just makes it all that much clearer and more painful.

Is there really anyone? amused through these? Does anyone have the pleasure of thinking “Oh hey, Tom Brady is on the talk show! About renting cars!” I laughed because I’ve rented cars and watched the talk show myself! ” No, no one thinks that. Somehow these ads just manage to cheapen the entire human experience, but it doesn’t make me want to rent a car.
