As glamorous thief Grace in the latest Mission: Impossible film, Hayley Atwell maintains her appeal even while handcuffed to Tom Cruise during a car chase through Rome.
But during a trip to London this week, the British actress took a much more low-key approach.
The 41-year-old, who graced red carpets around the world in support of the franchise’s seventh film Dead Reckoning Part One, looked fresh-faced and dressed in a pair of purple leggings and a baseball cap as she took a stroll and visited a beauty salon in Fulham.
Carrying a black shoulder bag and a pair of trainers, Ms Atwell managed to remain undercover and almost completely incognito.
In July, she wore a floor-length silver dress on the red carpet at the New York premiere and a deep scarlet satin dress to promote the film in Sydney.
Last November, she also appeared in a sheer blue dress with a gold corset at James Bond’s 60th birthday party in London.
But the London-born star, who is already filming the second installment of Mission: Impossible alongside Cruise, appears to be enjoying some much-needed time off.
Ms Atwell was cast as Grace after franchise director Christopher McQuarrie saw her on stage in Pride in 2013.
She said: “Afterwards he invited me to dinner and said, ‘I want what you did on stage.’ I want to bottle it. I don’t know what the character or story will be…”
It turned out to be Dead Reckoning, which grossed almost £400 million at the box office.
There were rumors that Atwell was romantically involved with Cruise.
But in April, the actress announced that she was engaged to music producer Ned Wolfgang Kelly.
