Tom Brady acquires stake in Las Vegas Aces

Aces and Raiders owner Mark Davis announced that former NFL star Tom Brady’s acquisition of a stake in the Las Vegas Aces was approved by the WNBA’s Board of Governors on Monday.

“Tom Brady is a win not only for the Aces and the WNBA, but for women’s professional sports as a whole,” Davis said in a statement in March when he announced his intention to invest in the team.

Brady became interested in the Aces after attending a game in Las Vegas in 2022.

“I have always been a huge fan of women’s sports and admire the work that Aces players, staff and the WNBA continue to do to grow the game and empower future generations of athletes,” Brady said in a statement. “As a member of the Aces organization, it is an incredible honor to be able to contribute in some way to this mission.”

Brady officially takes ownership of the team as the Aces look to become the first WNBA team in more than 20 years to win back-to-back championships.

The first game of the WNBA Finals will be held on Sunday at Michelob Ultra Arena against the Aces and New York Liberty.

Seven-time Super Bowl champion Brady is also waiting for the NFL to vote on his purchase of a stake in the Raiders. According to NFL media reports, the vote may take place at the league meeting in New York on October 17-18.
