Tom Brady says he’s been through “a lot of drama” following his divorce from Gisele Bündchen.
During Monday’s episode of the “Let’s Go!” podcast, the retired athlete got candid about his shortcomings, which he said was “hard” to do.
“We should all be self-aware, and that’s a hard trait to have. “We’re in a culture right now where it’s hard to admit things,” he said.
“For someone like me, I’m in the public eye a lot. I always try to say the right things. I don’t want any more drama in my life. “I’ve had a lot of drama. “
Bundchen, 43, and Brady, 46, announced their divorce in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage, following their decision to “not retire” from the NFL earlier that year.
The former couple have two children together: 13-year-old son Benjamin and 10-year-old daughter Vivian. Brady is also the father of 16-year-old son Jack, whom he has with ex-boyfriend Bridget Moina.
Nearly a year after their split, Bundchen publicly expressed her hope that her marriage would work.
“(Our breakup) was not something I dreamed of or hoped for. My parents have been married 50 years and I really wanted that to happen,” she told “CBS Sunday Morning News” last month As told to Lee Cowan.
“But I think you have to accept that, you know, sometimes like in your 20s, sometimes you grow together and sometimes you grow apart.”
Since their split, the seven-time Super Bowl champion has been seen with model Irina Shayk, 37, on several occasions.

Most recently, the mother-of-one – who shares 6-year-old daughter Leah De Sena with ex-boyfriend Bradley Cooper – was seen bursting into Brady’s New York apartment last month .
The father of three waited in his SUV for nearly 20 minutes before Shaik emerged alone.
After Brady arrived, she waited in the chauffeured SUV for 10 minutes before getting out and rushing into the Tribeca building.
In the meantime, Bündchen has been focusing on her children and continuing to make her mark on the fashion world.
The Brazilian beauty spent $9 million on a Florida home and has landed several high-profile fashion ads, including for Louis Vuitton and Victoria’s Secret.
