No one can accuse Tom Brady of not having a sense of humor.
The legendary NFL quarterback had some fun at his own expense after posting a photo alongside Spurs star rookie Victor Wembanyama.
Brady, 46, is 6 feet 4 inches tall and only reaches the No. 1 overall pick’s shoulders in photos posted on Instagram.
Wembanyama is an impressive 7 feet 4 inches tall.
“Great to meet you @wemby. Incredible young man,” Brady captioned the post. “Normally I’d make a little joke here and say I think I can get 10 and 10 against you, but honestly … you’re going to take my jump shot to the club level.”
Brady then took some shots at former teammate Julian Edelman, who has a 5-10 record.
“PS: @edelman11 This is how you’ve felt all these years?” I’ve added.
But Brady didn’t stop there, as he continued the joke on X, Photoshopping the photo to make himself appear larger next to the tall NBA player.
“The media asked for permission to use this photo. Yes, yes, here is the file. Ignore the other photos of me and Victor,” Brady jokingly wrote.
Wembanya and Brady met at dinner before the French rookie’s first game at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.
According to The Athletic, the dinner was organized by Fanatics co-owner Michael Rubin, where Wembanyama said he and Brady “virtually met.”
“I really like his vibe, very humble, fun, but also interested (in other people),” Wembanyama said. “It feels really good to see someone who is successful but happy. “He seems happy with his life and he makes people around him happy too. “
The basketball star told reporters he knows who Brady is and is learning more about American football.
Going into Wednesday’s game against the Knicks, Wembanyama is averaging 19.4 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game.
Against the Knicks, he scored two points on 0-for-5 shooting in the first half.
