Ahead of the event, Vrabel, 48, couldn’t help but take a dig at the recently retired quarterback during an interview with 98.5 Sports Hub’s Zolak and Bertrand.
“Tom texted to say congratulations,” he said. “I guess that means he won’t be able to attend. “He may have planned some makeup events but wasn’t able to attend on Saturday morning. “
The cheeky remark was in reference to reports that the seven-time Super Bowl champion had undergone surgery. During his time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in the twilight of his career, Brady was separated from his teammates for 11 days amid growing speculation that he had undergone plastic surgery.
However, it was revealed that the NFL legend is trying to repair his marriage to Gisele Bundchen. The two divorced after 13 years of marriage, and Brady has never responded to the claims.

Vrabel went on to add that he and Brady often teased each other during their time with the Patriots. “I texted him and said, ‘Remember when you used to be ruthless and just have that crap back and forth?'” Vrabel added. “That’s why we love coming to training and working every day.
“People would talk back and forth on the program team, just for games and practices. I was like, ‘When did you change?'”
Patriots head coach Bill Belichick also weighed in on the pair’s relationship ahead of the Hall of Fame event. “(Vrabel) is the type of guy that in practice is going to get reps at every position, free safety, strong safety, occasionally defensive line,” he said.
“If we’re trying to copy a certain player, he’s going to jump in and do it. It’s competitive, especially with him and (Tom) Brady, and honestly, it’s a lot of fun at times. Mike has a great got Personality, love for the game, passion, energy, very strong.”
When talking about the legendary head coach, Vrabel said: “I want to thank Bill. Obviously we all played for Bill and the one thing you always know is, whether you agree or disagree with what he does, at the end of the day You will all respect it.”
