Tory Lanez is reportedly fearing for his life in prison after being found guilty of killing Megan Thee Stallion.
The 31-year-old rapper was sentenced to 10 years in prison in August for shooting Megan, 28, in the leg after the couple left a party at Kylie Jenner’s Los Angeles home in 2020.
A source told Page Six he now fears he could be subjected to a fatal attack behind bars at North Kern State Prison in Delano, California, where he was caged last week.
They said: “Tory fears for her life and safety in prison. He feels instantly and directly targeted because of his celebrity status.
“His family is also worried about him, especially his father. He keeps in touch with his family and they all try to keep his spirits up.
“He definitely had moments where he cried (and still does) realizing who his true friends are.”
TMZ reported that the rapper is being held in “administrative segregation” due to his high status, which separates him from other prisoners.
The publication reported that he was “escorted to the shower, where he washes alone” and “if he decides to spend time in the yard, he will be the only one in the fenced area.”
The insider added that he is vulnerable to possible attacks: “He is 5ft 3in so his size is definitely a setback.
“He lives with real notorious criminals, murderers. So he really hopes his lawyers can continue to fight for his freedom while maintaining his innocence. It’s all a complete mess.”
Lanez pleaded not guilty to three criminal charges in December, including assault with a semi-automatic firearm, as well as carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
He also wrote in an Instagram post in August: “I have never let challenges intimidate me.
“I will never let a prison sentence destroy me. No matter how they try to interpret my words, I have always maintained my innocence and always will.
“I have in no way apologized for the charges on which I was wrongfully convicted.”
Lanez vowed he would continue to fight the case, writing: “I refuse to apologize for something I didn’t do. I’ve faced adversity all my life, and every time it seemed like I was going to fail, I came out on top.
“This is nothing more than another moment where my back is against the wall and I refuse to stop fighting until I emerge victorious. Hard times don’t last long, but people do.”
Megan – real name Megan Jovon Ruth Pete – gave a victim impact statement in the case, saying: “Not only did he shoot me, he made fun of my injury… he tried to position himself as a victim and intended to destroy my character.” and my soul.”
