Long family history
L’Sorrento Mediterranean Hotel has a long family tradition dating back over 100 years. “The hotel was the home of my great-grandmother Antonietta Lauro, sister of Achille Lauro (ship owner), built in 1912. A woman with a strong sense of hospitality. During World War II, many northern displaced people sent to the Sorrento Peninsula by the interim government were hosted by my great-grandmother. At the end of the war, several families left the place, but with a great sense of nostalgia. So the idea was born to turn this house into a hotel for receiving guests,” he says.
