Licorice root

Licorice root, also known as Mulethi, is very effective in fighting viruses and clearing up congestion. It is good for the liver and digestion. It is important to note that consuming too much can lead to high blood pressure. It is one of the classic Ayurvedic remedies for cough and sore throat. It is rich in vitamins, potassium, flavonoids, biotin, resin, sucrose, iodine and other nutrients. For respiratory problems, boil a few mulethi sticks in water and drink kada several times a day. You can also chew the root to treat a sore throat. For nasal congestion, the root can be boiled with tulsi leaves and mint. Add a teaspoon of honey and serve.



Bipali is an excellent herbal remedy for colds and coughs. It is known to relieve headaches and congestion caused by cold. Pippali dissolves mucus and aids in coughing, allowing the person to breathe normally. It contains certain compounds that have anti-asthma properties. It is also useful in treating bronchial asthma and relieving breathing difficulties in children. Take a handful of pippali churna and swallow it along with a teaspoon of honey. Repeat once or twice daily.

Kalmegh, also known as Green Chiretta and the King of Bitters, is used for a variety of medicinal purposes. While it’s great for liver problems, its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties can boost immunity and help control symptoms of the common cold, sinusitis, and allergies because of its antibacterial effects. Take calme with honey as it is very bitter.
