LeBron James is still incredible. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has nothing more to offer in basketball, but that won’t stop him from reaching the top. While Michael Jordan is still considered by most to be the greatest player in the history of the game, there is no denying that LeBron is the first and only player in league history to score at least 40,000 points.
When LeBron James scored his 40,000th NBA point Saturday night at home against the Denver Nuggets, he became a member of several amazing one-man statistical clubs.

There’s no doubt that LeBron’s latest achievement will be used heavily by his supporters in the “GOAT” debate. While Jordan won six NBA championships and never lost an NBA Finals, James is statistically the best player when it comes to the most important basketball numbers. He’s not even considered a first-scoring player, as he’s seen more as a facilitator than a scorer.

Unfortunately for LeBron James and the Lakers, their big night was ruined by a 124-114 loss to the Nuggets. James played 37 minutes, made 12 of 26 shots, and scored 26 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists. Three of his four shots were also taken from the field. He can continue to add to his point total when the Lakers host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday.
