US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who made his third tour in the Middle East since the conflicts between Israel and Palestine that began on October 7, arrived in the West Bank region of Palestine after his contacts in Israel. Blinken met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah.
During the meeting, Abbas stressed the necessity of a complete ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and an end to the Israeli aggression, and stressed the importance of quickly providing water, electricity and fuel to the Gaza Strip, as well as increasing humanitarian, medical and food aid. .
During the meeting, Abbas also presented Blinken with an extensive file documenting Israel’s crimes in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem. He stated that the file contains evidence of murders, destruction, ethnic cleansing and other atrocities committed by Israeli forces. Referring to the conditions of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons, Abbas called for an end to violations against Palestinian prisoners.
During the meeting, Abbas renewed his rejection of the forced displacement of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and pointed out that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the Palestinian state.
Abbas stressed that peace and security in the region can only be achieved by implementing the two-state solution on the basis of international legitimacy, and said that this solution includes recognition of the Palestinian state, including East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.
