After the United States voted, the Russian draft resolution calling for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza was put to a vote.
The bill received 4 “yes” votes, 9 “abstentions” and 2 “no” votes.
The Russian bill was thus rejected, which received a “no” vote from the permanent members, the United States and the United Kingdom.
Focus on “stopping” in the draft
The draft resolution, which Russia rejected, pointed to the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, and stressed that the situation threatens security and peace in the entire region.
