Last month, campaigners shared footage of a billboard in Times Square reading “FREE SKY FERREIRA” and confirmed that it was a real billboard that appeared to be set up by them. The billboard was spotted by Sky Ferreira herself, who seemed to confirm that she is, in fact, a hostage to her label.

Despite the lack of new music, Ferreira recently announced a US tour in November and December.

She will also star in Netflix’s upcoming crime thriller. Reptile, This is the debut feature film by Grant Singer. The music video director and commercial director is best known for his work with artists such as Ferreira, The Weeknd, Lorde, Sam Smith, Ariel Pink and Skrillex. He directed six of Ferreira’s music videos, including “Everything Is Confused” and “I Blame Myself.”
