NFL icon Tom Brady was in attendance to watch Wayne Rooney be booed by Birmingham City fans after another disappointing performance.
The 46-year-old once again featured at St Andrews Stadium but unfortunately for the Championship side, the seven-time Super Bowl winner’s appearance could not inspire victory as the Blues only managed a 0-0 draw. Get one point. Saturday (December 2) Rotherham.
Brady became chairman of the club’s advisory committee in August after becoming a minority shareholder and controversially appointed Rooney in October following the sacking of John Eustace, but United have won just eight games in their history. The 38-year-old admitted his side were not up to par during the game and branded his side “sloppy”. “I thought we started the game really well for 20 minutes,” said the former England superstar. “But we got sloppy, we got slow and we created a lot of problems for ourselves. We might have been lucky to get a point in the end.”
Rooney has had to endure a lukewarm reception from Birmingham fans since his arrival, with fans booing him after the draw in a sign of dissatisfaction with the club and its current form.

One fan on social media said Birmingham’s current form was “not good enough”, writing: “I’m trying so hard to stay positive but the draw with Rotherham wasn’t good enough. I know Rooney needs his Players, but these players deserve to win these types of games.”
Another commented: “This is terrible. I admire Rooney for letting these players play but they are terrible and clearly not capable of playing the way Rooney wants.” A third called out some players for With the January transfer window away, they added: “Move on, January, because some of these guys are not fit to play football, let alone the shirt.”
