Whoever controls the entity can basically control the world as it can distort digital data and has already hacked into the worldwide intelligence network.

The organization was created by the United States government. and they tested her on a Russian submarine called Sevastopol, just to see if she could show them where the invisible submarine was. Not surprisingly, the entity went out of control and destroyed the submarine.

It is on Sevastapol that the source code of the entity is stored, and access to it is possible only with the help of a cross-shaped key. Luckily, Ethan said the key and at the end Mission Impossible 7 Paris told him that he needed to find Sevastopol.

Ethan doesn’t know where she is, but sets out to find her in order to destroy the entity, which can only be done at its source. Gabriel will be there to stop him. which does the entity’s order, and obviously the entity doesn’t want to be destroyed.
