Fayed has become almost as famous for his personal life as for his filmography. He married model Suzanne Gregard in 1986, but they divorced just eight months later. He has been linked to many famous people including Julia Roberts, Winona Ryder and Tina Sinatra.
That same year, during his brief marriage, the then-Prince Charles played a polo match against Fayed. In accordance with Independent, it was here that he first met Diana, Princess of Wales. At the time, the future king was still married to the princess, but they eventually announced their separation in 1992. In the summer of 1997, they began a relationship when Fayed’s father invited the princess to their yacht in Saint-Tropez. It was there that they began a romantic relationship and became the center of a tabloid frenzy. There are still rumors that Fayed planned to marry the princess, although there has never been any clear confirmation.
While on vacation on the yacht, Fayed dated and was reportedly engaged to model Kelly Fisher, and they both resided in Malibu, California. Fisher ultimately sued Fayed for breach of contract, claiming that his departure violated their prenuptial agreement, although she dropped the suit shortly after his death.
