Over the years, Rock has been known for his generosity. Originally named Dwayne Johnson, The Rock has made several appearances to help those in need. In August 2023, he demonstrated his generosity again by coming to the aid of firestorm victims in Hawaii.
To do their part, The Rock and Oprah Winfrey donated money to help victims of the Maui firestorm. However, when they encouraged people to donate to the cause, he says they received backlash for doing so. In a video posted to his Instagram, Rock said:
“When we first launched the fund, there was some backlash. I get it and totally understand it and I could be better. And next time I will be better. Money doesn’t fall from the sky and it doesn’t grow on trees, and there are a lot of people who live paycheck to paycheck. And I understand, and I know what it is. The last thing you want to hear when you’re living paycheck to paycheck is someone asking you for money, especially when the person asking you for money already has a lot of money.”
Rock concluded that he had never launched a fund before, but the experience was quick and he learned his lesson. When the fund was announced, Johnson and Winfrey said victims who lost their homes could receive $1,200 a month through the fund.
SmackDown Superstar Claims The Rock Left Him
On the September 15 episode of Smackdown, The Rock made a surprise return, much to the delight of several fans. Upon their return, the Hollywood star and Pat McAfee compared Austin Theory. The Rock also shared a clip with John Cena during the episode. However, there was one person The Rock reportedly didn’t want to date.
According to SmackDown Superstar Grayson Waller, he saw “The Rock” when the latter appeared on September 15th. However, according to the Australian star, the People’s Champion didn’t want to see him, so he ran away. During his appearance on WWE The Bump, Waller said:
“When he went backstage, he started running. The Rock didn’t want to see Grayson Waller.”
Over the past few months, The Rock and Grayson Waller have exchanged words on social media. While the former didn’t compare Waller last month, it will be interesting to see if The Rock returns soon to compare the 33-year-old Australian superstar.
