What is the Løci brand?
Løci is already incredibly popular, but it’s actually still a relatively new brand in the sneaker market. It was founded in 2020 by Frank Eribo and Philippe Homsi, concerned about the amount of animal products used in the fashion industry. The footwear sector in particular depends on the leather industry, which is linked to deforestation, rising emissions and the killing of millions of animals every year.
Eribo and Homsi decided it was time to create sustainable and ethical sneakers that wouldn’t have the same impact on the environment. “We wanted to create a premium vegan alternative where customers don’t have to compromise on style or quality,” they said. Soho House.
With this in mind, the brand makes all of its products from sustainable materials such as corn leather, recycled plastic and cork in ethically run factories in Portugal, where every worker earns a living wage. Collections are also produced in small batches to reduce waste, and every purchase benefits the environment, with 10 percent of all profits donated to marine conservation nonprofits.

Løci’s focus on sustainability and high-quality sneaker design have made them a hit with celebrities. Some of the brand’s most famous fans include those mentioned above, as well as Sophie Turner, Eva Longoria, Mila Kunis, Nikki Reed, Jessica Alba, Kylie Jenner, Olivia Wilde and Lucy Hale, who recently partnered with the brand on the release of her own capsule collection.
DiCaprio also announced his investment in the brand just over a year after its launch. “I am proud to be an investor in Lecha,” the A-list actor and environmentalist said in a statement. “(It’s) a brand dedicated to minimizing its environmental impact and focused on creating sustainable and ethical footwear.”
Talking to ForbesHomsi praised DiCaprio’s decision to invest. “Sustainability is one of the most overused buzzwords today,” he told the publication. “We want Lözi to break through the noise and be judged by our influence. Through education, innovation and donations, we have created a business model driven by our passion. With Leo, we couldn’t have hoped for a more sincere and devoted partner.”
