Will LeBron James play against the Brooklyn Nets tonight? Los Angeles Lakers latest injury update (October 9)

LeBron James has played in the NBA for 21 seasons but has yet to play in a preseason game for the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers will take on the Brooklyn Nets on Monday, October 9 at 9:00 pm ET at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Lakers faced off in the preseason against the Golden State Warriors, who had Chris Paul and Stephen Curry on the floor at the same time for the first time. James, meanwhile, has chosen not to participate in the game to allow other players to warm up before the season begins.

While James hasn’t been announced yet to play against Brooklyn, there’s a good chance the four-time NBA champion will lace up his basketball shoes.

In a recent post by Andraya Carter, James wore a Las Vegas T-shirt while watching Game 1 of the WNBA Finals between the New York Liberty and Connecticut Sun.

“ESPN SOURCE: LeBron James and several Lakers expected to attend Game 1 of the Aces-Liberty WNBA Finals on Sunday in Las Vegas. James calls DPOY A’ja Wilson his “little sister,” and said on Thursday,

“I hope she brings it home. The Lakers will play the Nets in Las Vegas on 10/9,” Carter said in a post on social media platform X.

Now that James is in town with the Lakers, he could potentially play, but if he does, he’ll only get 13-18 minutes.

Los Angeles Lakers performed pretty well in preseason opener without LeBron James

The Lakers lost to the Warriors in their first preseason game, but with LeBron James out, there was a glimmer of hope. The former league MVP has given other players a chance to shine, and several players have stepped up to fill the void.

Max Christie was the player who took advantage of James’ absence, scoring 15 points in 24 minutes for the Warriors. He also tied D’Angelo Russell in scoring with 15 points and five assists in 15 minutes of playing time.

Newly signed Lakers player Christian Wood put on his new jersey and scored 5 points and 4 rebounds, but some people did not perform well, such as Cam Reddish, 0-for-4 from the field. Anthony Davis looked healthy heading into the new season with 15 points and five rebounds in 12 minutes of playing time.

After the game against the Nets, the Lakers will play four games in the preseason. Their next game will be against the Sacramento Kings on October 12th at 10:00pm Easter time.
